A nice problem for condo buyers to have

March 13th, 2009 · 3 Comments · macomb county mi real estate market

Yesterday I spent most of the day viewing condos for sale in various cities of Macomb County to home buyers that are relocating to Michigan.   I have to tell you, I was pleasantly surprised to find so many to choose from in their price range and very specific criteria (finished basements, 2 full baths, 2 car attached garages.)

It used to be if a condo with those features came on the market that it would be snapped up by a buyer within a few days – a week at the most.   When agents saw one come on the market we would be on the phone to potential buyers letting them know about the new “hot” listing so that they would not miss out on it.

What a pleasure for buyers now to have quite a few to choose from, and yet it also creates a problem of sorts:

Which one to choose?

This is a nice problem to have, don’t you think? Instead of feeling rushed to make a decision and a quick offer buyers who wish to purchase a condo right now can take a bit of time and go over each one in detail and then make a choice.

Another pleasant surprise: Almost all of the condos we viewed were not foreclosures or short sales, so they were in very good condition and a pleasure to see.

Good post Kris. I just started working with a Condo buyer this week and it’s the first time I’ve had a buyer looking at Condo’s in a while and I am amazed at the value a buyer can get in purchasing a Condo.

    Hi Brian,

Were you finding the same things? More well taken care of condos for sale and less “distressed” sales?

It was fun to view those and enjoyable for the buyers!

Yep…same thing here. And it seems even the distressed sales are in much better shape on a condo then a single family home.
