Yes. In Michigan there is a program called MSHDA that still has down payment (and closing cost) assistance to home buyers. There are income limits, however they have become more generous over the years. There are also purchase price limits, but as with the income they are also higher than in years past.
For example: A single person or family of 2 in Macomb County can have an income of under $71,000 to qualify for the MSHDA program. The purchase price limit in Macomb, Oakland & Wayne counties is $224,500.
