Contrary to all the doomsday talk about home sales in Macomb County and across the state of Michigan, homes that are owned privately are selling.
Let me state this clearly: Not all home sales in our area are foreclosure sales.
During the last month (December 2008) 208 homes that were privately owned sold. Out of those 208 homes, 111 of them were priced between $100,000 and $200,000.
According to Mirealsource™ and its participating agents and brokers (of which I am a member) the lowest priced home sold in Warren on Pearl Street for $16,900. The highest priced privately owned home sold in Harrison Township on Huron Pointe for $535,000.
This nice home on Harry in Shelby Township sold in December of 2008 for $122,000 and also was not a foreclosure. Good news for their neighborhood property values!
Not only is this welcome news for home owners who wish to sell their homes and are hesitant to try because of the negative news, but it’s also great news for home buyers. Home buyers want to see homes that have been well taken care of and have their purchase transaction go smoothly without the hiccups that oftentimes occur with bank owned homes.
If you would like to know about homes that have sold in your subdivision or local area please feel free to send me an email or call me. No pressure- just conversation.
